Zinnen kunnen passief of actief zijn. 

Bij actieve zinnen ligt de nadruk op WIE iets doet.

Bij passieve zinnen ligt de nadruk op de actie/handeling zelf.

het stuk: "by the" en alles wat daar volgt is optioneel.
