Everything you eat is called food(stuffs). Food consists of substances your body needs, nutrients. Nutrients can be used as a fuel, building material, protection or as a reserve.

Carbohydrates
Have a lot of energy because they get broken down in glucose. Mainly used as a fuel for your body.
Protein
Proteins are used to make new cells, think of muscle cells or when you have an injury.

Fats are used as a reserve for the carbohydrates.
Vitamins and mineral
Lots of different substances with several functions. Offer protection and help your immune system.
Water
Most important building material of your body.

Fibers aren't really a nutrient, but are still important for your digestive system. They consist of carbohydrates made of plants that your body can't break down.
They are important because they keep your gut bacteria healthy.
