§6.2 Tangent

Let's see what the  'Tangent' of an angle means,

repeating a bit of §6.1 along the way.

Summarizing:

+  The Gradient of an angle and 

+ The Tangent (tan) of an angle 

+ are completely the same things!

In exercise 9d we read something new!

This expression is used when you

+ know the tangent (or gradient) and now

+ you want to know the angle that corresponds to it

+ you key in: SHIFT    TAN   0.625   =   

+  the result will be the angle: 32 degrees,

+ just like you should have measured at 9c!

2. Compare your answer to your answer to 10c.

3. What do you notice?

Answer:

without brackets you get:

7.4427.... degrees as an answer, 

which is wrong....

So: don't forget those handy fellows!

Because this really would a major mistake.
