Adjectives and Adverbs

1. Frank is a good singer 

2. My brother is a careful driver.

An adjective describes something or someone, it says something about tne noun. 

Adjectives and Adverbs

1. Frank sings well. 

2. My brother drives carefully.

Adverbs (Bijwoorden) can describe other words. An adverb says, for example, how something has happened or how something is done. It tells you something about the verb.

-ly

Most adverbs are formed by adding -ly after the adjective.

Beautiful - beautifully

Remember! Sometimes the spelling of the adverb changes. 

Terrible - terribly

Easy - easily

Na de werkwoorden die te maken hebben met je zintuigen (to feel/to taste/to smell en het werkwoord to be krijg je geen -ly.

There are also irregular adverbs. The adverb for good is  well - She's a good performer. She performs well. 

A few adverbs have the same form as the adjective.

Fast (snel), fair (sportief/eerlijk), low, high, hard, long, late, loud  and straight (onmiddelijk) - He's a fast driver, He drives fast.

We're going to watch a short film

You will be devided into groups of three or four.

You will recieve a pen and paper, during the video write down as many Adjectives as you can, but they must be visible in the film.

For Example - Beautiful sports car = Two points

One point per Adjective.
