Word families

Often words come in three types.

Read the sentences and look at the words underlined.

Do they describe, name, or discuss an action?

She is very _________, she has a lot of very good ideas.

creative

Adjectives

Adjectives are describing words. 

"Silvia is very creative, she has a lot of very good ideas."

The verb to 'be' (is / are / was /were) always come before an adjective.

Pablo _______ , designs for a car company in Japan.

creates

3. Action word

Verbs

Verbs are action words. 

Pablo creates  designs for a car company in Japan.

Verbs are things that you do (e.g. run / swim / eat / sleep)

Josefa's design was an excellent .

creation

Nouns

Nouns are naming words. 

"Josefa's design was an excellent creation."

Articles / Quantifiers (a / an / the / some / many) are often used before nouns.
