We are going to do a recap lesson today, next week you guys have a test. Make sure to ask all the questions you have. We're going to repeat all the grammar rules we have discussed in chapter one and chapter 2. And as last we will have the words of chapter two. 

The pronouns

We are going to start with the pronouns. What are pronouns? -> Persoonlijke voornaamwoorden. Which one do we have. Who knows the personal pronouns? 

The list of I, you, he, she, it, they, we

Then we have a second list, that is also for the pronouns, but that shows that they are possessive - what does possessive pronouns are bezittelijke voornaamwoorden.  Dat legt de relatie tussen een persoon en iets. Does anyone know what the possesive pronouns are?

They are, my, your, his, hers, its, our, your, their.

Then we have another list, and those are the object pronouns, die verwijst naar het onderwerp van een zin en komt na het object. 

The objective pronouns are, mine, yours, his, hers, ours, yours, theirs. 

Now we are going to practise with the pronouns. Make sure to follow the rules I wrote on the board. Those are words that are in the middle of a sentence, so don't put a period at the end.

How many articles are there in English?

Which one do you use when you mean a specific item?

When do you use a/an?

You use 'a' when you hear a consonant at the beginning of the word. 

You use 'an' when you hear a vowel at the beginning of the word.

Question words

We're going to continue with the question words. What are the question words we have in English. Who knows the 5W + 1H in Dutch?

In English we know 1 more, that one is which. When do you use which and when do you use what?

You use which when you have a more specific choice, you use what when you have a broader option. 

The questions for these rule, will be fill in questions. So make sure to not add a period or comma or question mark. Just put down the correct question word.

To be/to have

Now we are going to have a look at to be and to have. 

What does to be and to have mean zijn en hebben. 

Now we will have a look at the correct form of to be and to have, let's start with to be. 

Which form do you use with I, and continue with the other pronouns,

Do the same with to have. 

For these exercise, you have to fill in 2 words for each question. Write down the words and separate them with a comma and blank space. Do not put a period.

The present simple

- Bevestigende vorm

- Ontkennende vorm

- Vragende vorm

The present simple -> welke tijd gaat dat over? De tegenwoordige tijd. 

Laten we eerst een kijkje nemen voor de bevestigende vorm.

Wat voeg je toe aan het werkwoord? Voeg je dat toe bij alle voornaamwoorden? Bij wie wel en bij wie niet? 

Wat doe je als het eindigt op een s-klank?

Bij 'she' wordt het 'sleeps' and bij 'we' wordt het 'sleep'. Je voegt alleen iets toe bij he/she/it. 

Nu gaan we een kijkje nemen naar de ontkennende vorm. 

Deze zelfde zin -> hoe maken we deze zin ontkennend?

She sleeps gaan we ontkennend maken. Wat voeg je toe of wat verander je aan de zin om het ontkennend te maken. 

Bij he/she/it gebruik je doesn't en bij de rest gebruik je don't.

Dus wat wordt we sleep? 

We don't sleep.

Als laatste voor de present simple hebben we nog de vragende vorm. 

Ook weer hier wat verandert er aan de zin? Voeg je een woord toe of niet? Waar komt dat woord in de zin?

Als we de zin vragend willen maken van She sleeps? Wat verandert er aan de zin om het een vraag te maken?

Je voegt Does of Do aan het begin van de zin toe. Dus de vragende vorm van she sleeps -> Does she sleep?

Nu gaan we een aantal vragen maken. Let op of je een volledige zin moet maken, een zin begint met een hoofdletter en eindigt met een punt. De lessonup controleert streng op comma's, punten, apostrof. Wat is een apostrof en hoe typ je die op je toetsenbord? Let goed op spelfouten!

Word order

Wie - doet - wat - waar - wanneer 

De word order regel is in principe simpel, je volgt de regel wie doet wat waar wanneer. Wat ik nog mee wil geven is de regel dat plaats dus waar altijd voort tijd dus wanneer in de zin komt! 

Ook volgens het alfabet bijvoorbeeld de p komt voor de t. Dus let daar ook goed op. 

Bij deze opdrachten gaan we volledige zinnen maken. Dus vergeet de punten en hoofdletters niet! Jullie willen geen punten verliezen door slordigheid!

Nu mogen jullie je laptops even weg doen, en een schrift pakken. Jullie gaan na dat ik uitgepraat ben de woorden die op het bord staan vertalen naar het Engels. Normaal gesproken moeten jullie ook het juiste woord in de juiste zin plaatsen. In de toets moeten jullie ook de Engelse vertalingen daarvan kunnen geven. Dus we gaan hiermee even oefenen. Jullie krijgen hier 2 minuten de tijd voor. Ik zet een timer op mijn telefoon, als je het alarm hoort afgaan. Gaan jullie pennen neer zodat we de antwoorden kunnen controleren.
