Linking words can help to understand a text or sentence

Linking words can help to write good English sentences

Linking words are IMPORTANT!!

Linking words

are words that connect two sentences or two parts of sentences

example

I am going home. I am going to eat pizza.

I am going home and I am going to eat pizza.

Linking words are important because.....

...they show the relationship between ideas in sentences and paragraphs

....they have different functions and positions in the sentences

Prefix & Suffix

Prefix = a word part added to the start of a root word.

Suffix = a word part added to
the end of a root word.

Note: by adding the suffix, 

you make a whole new word!

Add a prefix or a suffix to the correct form of the word in brackets.
