TEXT B

THE LONDON EYE – A VIEW FROM ABOVE.

You and your family get back to the hotel after a day of seeing the sights of London. After such a great day, you pick up your diary (=dagboek) and write down the following.

Dear Diary,
Today was a great day because we took a ride on the London Eye. We had to wait in a queue for an hour, before we finally got entry to our capsule. The capsule was a small room with a wooden bench in the middle. We all grabbed a railing, because the capsule seemed to shake a little. It took about fifteen minutes to reach the top, a height of 135 metres. My father is afraid of heights, so he sat on the bench the whole time. He tried to look out of the windows once, but that really scared him. That’s okay, because my mother and I had a great time enjoying the view.

Slide 30 - Slide

It was incredible, we could see the entire city centre! We saw Big Ben, the river Thames, and Tower Bridge. My baby sister enjoyed the ride as well. She was very relaxed and did not cry once. Before I knew it, the ride was over and we were walking out the exit. I hope to return to the London Eye soon, because I loved it.
