Voltage

Symbol: V

Unit: Volt
 Symbol for Volt: V

Voltage (potential difference) is the difference in the amount of electrical energy between two points in a circuit.
Examples:
  • Voltage = 5 volts
  • V = 5 V

Slide 3 - Slide

Another definition of voltage
Energy is measured in joules J. The number of joules that each coloumb ( batch of electrons) gives to a component is known as volt. 1 V = 1 J/C

Homework
  • Read 9.8 + 9.9
  • Do the yellow block exercises of 9.8 and work book
  • Do the yellow block exercises of 9.9 and workbook

Slide 7 - Slide

I = V / R (Current = Voltage Divided by Resistance)
I : current, unit Ampere
V: Voltage, unit volt
R: Resistance, Unit Ohm:
