Statement 1:

"It's hard to feel good about yourself when everyone looks perfect on Instagram"

Statement 2:

"I get inspired when I scroll through my Instagram feed and see pictures of beautiful people. I want to look like them too!"

Let's watch a video 

                          Use of English

Look at exercise 7 and finish the sentences

Example:

a) The man puts on a helmet to make it look like he is going to cycle but in fact he .............. 

(You can take a look at exercise 6 for inspiration on how to form a correct sentence) 

             Ex. 8   Discussion (and take notes) 

1) What do you think the message of this video is? Do you agree with it? 

2) What negative results can the actions of the people in the video have?

3) Do any of these stories make you feel annoyed? If yes, which ones and why?

Exercise 9 

Look at the three Instagram posts and imagine that the people in the photos are also in the video. Say what they might in fact do or feel before sharing their posts

1) I'm taking these back to the library! One week, nine books

2) My first day in the office! Super excited about my new job and all the people I've met today!

3) Hands down, the best hotel I've ever stayed in! I just loved the food and all the beautiful views!

                                      Exercise 10 

In groups of 3 or four discuss the various statements and while you're discussing the statements take notes of your own opinion and remarks others made

After that choose one statement to write about

1. Always start with a question (title) to make sure the reader is getting interested in what you've got to say

2. Try to find pros and cons and write about them

3. End your essay with your own opinion and explain 

Write an essay about the statement you've chosen. Use between 110 and 140 words
