An adverb says something about a verb.(werkwoord)

Het woord is: nervous. Vaak zet je een -ly erchter om het een bijwoord te maken.

With some verbs (senses) you don't use an adverb but an adjective.
to be (zijn), to seem , to feel , to smell ,
to sound , to taste

Sometimes it stays the same:
fast, long, fair, low
