Permanent state:

Habits and repeated actions:

Present Continuous

Is happening now:

We're listening to the teacher.

Happening around now:

I'm learning to play the guitar at the moment.

Make a sentence:

Present Perfect (simple/continuous)

If it is not finished or you talk about the result

Signal words: for/since/already/yet/ever/never

If it is an action or if you want to emphasise that it took a long time  use the continuous:

Sam's been learning Greek since June. (action, something you are doing)

We've been looking for you all morning. (it took long!)
