Christmas around the world
" Christmas is celebrated in many countries, but the traditions are often very different. In the United States families decorate Christmas trees and hang out stockings for Santa Claus. In the United Kingdom, people pull Christmas crackers at dinner. In Spain, children wait for the three Kings to bring presents on January 6th. In Japan, families often eat fried chicken on Christmas eve. Mexicans love Christmas, they have family celebrations for a full month and lots of piñata's. In Venezuela people skate to church on Christmas morning. The Ukranian people like to decorate their Christmas tree with spider webs. In the Netherlands we celebrate Sinterklaas on the 5th of December. Although the traditions vary, Christmas is a time spent with family and friends, share food, and give gifts."
