Gerund 
  • Base of a verb: to sing + ing = singing    - > Made from a verb

  • But, a gerund is not a verb (werkword) but a noun (zelfstandig naamwoord)

  • Why? It describes a thing (noun) not an action (verb - ww)

  • Singing is fun.

Gerund - How?
  • Use with: love - like - hate - start - stop - mind - finish - enjoy 
  • I love eating pineapple pizza. 
  • You hate eating pineapple pizza.
  • I started watching The Crown.
  • I stopped going to the gym.
  • Enjoy eating your cereals!
  • I like gazing at the stars.
  • My cat doesn´t mind stealing my food when I am not looking.
