When you say South Africa, you say Nelson Mandela (1918-2013): apartheid activist, former president and global advocate for human rights. 

He spent 27 years in prison trying to overthrow the pro-apartheid government. As South Africa's first black President, he was respected for his courage and wisdom in bringing people together to live in peace.
