This is an English language work shop and so we speak English only. If you don't know a word in English, just ask the teacher or say the Dutch word. You always need to try and speak English. That way your English will improve.

  2. Listen to each other. Be quiet when someone else is talking.
  3. Be kind and don't laugh at others for trying.
  4. No gaming/social media unless the teacher says so.

The Japanese kitchen is famous for its fresh sushi. French cuisine is the standard. Italians have beautiful pastas and the Spanish have delicious tapas. But when you ask foreigners about Dutch cuisine they will look at you as if you're crazy.

There is of course so much more typical Dutch food that we didn't mention in this lesson. Think about stroopwafels, balkenbrij, Haagsche Hopjes, oliebollen, Limburgse vlaaien, haring, Bosche Bollen, kapsalon, drop, vanille vla to name a few. Make sure that you have a good variety of Dutch food on your poster and don't forget to include the kitchens from former colonies that are now seen as part of the Dutch kitchen.
