Slide 8 - Drag question

How to for negations
Step 1: Determine auxiliary or main verb?

--> Auxiliary = + not
-> Main verb = add don't/doesn't (for present tense) or didn't (for past tense).

Slide 9 - Slide

Questions
Step 1: Auxiliary or main verb?

--> Auxiliary =move to front
-> Main verb = add do/does (present) /did (past tense) to front of sentence + remove 's' or past tense.
Don't forget: questions with Did in front have a second verb which is always written in present tense.
Ex. Did you ask for my permission? (past simple tense)

Slide 10 - Slide

Uitzondering!
Have
kan auxiliary zijn, maar ook main verb.
Hoe weet je nou?
Enige werkwoord in de zin = main verb
nog ander werkwoord er achter --> auxiliary
Ex. 1. I have only one word for this example. = main verb (present simple tense)
Ex. 2. I have read this book multiple times. = auxiliary verb (present perfect tense)
