What is Setting and Atmosphere?
A character doesn't just live inside a bubble. A character is experiencing their adventure somewhere. This "somewhere" is called a setting. The atmosphere (sfeer) inside that setting, then determines what that setting looks and feels like

In Pinocchio Vampire Slayer there are three different settings:

  • Pinocchio's hometown
  • The ship
  • Romania

The atmosphere describes the feel of the imagery (the comic) and language of the setting.

Assignment: Setting and Atmosphere
Think of an atmosphere and pick one of the places below to describe the setting (100):

  •  Pinocchio's hometown
  •  The ship
  • Romania

For example:

"The wind was blowing eerily through the trees. A deep dread hung in the air. Tonight was the night. The night of the living dead. A rabit rushed across the road, only too aware of its fate if it didn't hurry back home right in that instance."
