Geen -s achter de woorden can, could, and should bij he/she/ it. 

Na can, could, should and have to, werkwoord zonder 'to'.

in het verleden:

Was/Were       +       werkwoord + ing

Ik was aan het lopen = I was walking
Wij waren aan het lopen = We were walking

– wat mensen/dieren/dingen kunnen doen
– voor toestemming

TIP! can + not = cannot.
