What does it look like? 

have / has + past participle

I have eaten an apple.

He hasn't slept at all.

Have you seen that film?

I, you, we, they: have

she, he, it: has

Past Participle = voltooid deelwoord

regular verbs: verb + ed > worked

irregular verbs: third column > eaten

When to Use? (p 35)

• unspecified time in the past.  I've been there, too.
• first time with superlatives. It's the best pasta I've ever eaten.
• recently completed actions. No cake for me, please. I've just had breakfast.
• something started in the past and continues up to now. I've lived here since I was ten.
• repeated actions likely to happen again. I've been to the cinema a couple of times.
• to introduce a topic. An accident has happened in our street.
• actions going on in the past: present perfect continuous. I have been sleeping for hours.
