Roe are the eggs that come from female fish. Caviar is the best known and most expensive type of roe. The other type of seafood comes from shellfish. Shrimp, lobster (zeekreeft), crayfish (rivierkreeft), clams (Amerika en Canada chowder), oysters, mussels, and crabs are examples of shellfish. Like fish, shellfish can live in freshwater or saltwater.
