Getting ready
  1. Use the arm to hold the microscope
  2. Red lens above the stage.
  3. Make sure the stage is as low as possible
  4. Bulb turned on
  5. Diaphragm open

Using the microscope
  1. Put the specimen underneath the stage clips on the stage
  2. Keep turning the large knob until the image is in focus.
  3. You have magnified your object 40x 
  4. Rotate to the yellow lens
  5. Keep turning the small knob until the image is in focus.
  6. You have magnified your object 100x
  7. Rotate to the blue lens
  8. Keep turning the small knob until the image is in focus.
  9. You have magnified your object 400x

Tidying up
  1. Red lens above the stage
  2. Make sure the stage is as low as possible
  3. Remove the specimen.
  4. Bulb turned off
  5. Use the arm to hold the microscope
