Professional image: Hairdressing

In college we wear a tunic and trousers. However, within the hairdressing industry tunics are rarely worn.
Uniform policies will vary from salon to salon.

Most salons will also allow jewellery, varnish and nail extensions and any amount of make-up (as long as it is applied correctly!!)

Professional image: Beauty
Beauty salons have a very different image to hairdressers.
  • Tunics are nearly always worn
  • Hair is always up in a bun, plait or ponytail
  • Make-up is very minimal
  • Nails are short and natural (no extensions)
  • Very minimal jewellery (normally a wedding band, stud earrings and watch)
