PRESENT SIMPLE: QUESTIONS & NEGATIONS
We gebruiken het werkwoord to do om vraagzinnen en ontkenningszinnen te maken.
De werkwoorden to be en to have got  (en andere hulpwerkwoorden) zijn uitzonderingen op deze standaardregel.

Het werkwoord to do wordt als volgt vervoegd:
  • I /you/we/they       do      :     I like chocolate             Do I like chocolate?
  • He/ she/it                does  :    She likes chocolate    Does she like chocolate?

Slide 9 - Slide

PRESENT SIMPLE: QUESTIONS
Bij vragen begint de zin met Do of Does

I feel good. -> Do you feel good?
He looks happy. -> Does he look happy?

Let op: omdat we het werkwoord to do vervoegen voor he / she / it (does), zetten we het andere werkwoord in de volledige werkwoordsvorm. Looks -> look

Slide 10 - Slide

present simple: questions
Wanneer er een vorm van to be of to have got of een ander hulpwerkwoord in de zin staat, dan verplaatst deze naar de start van de zin om de vraag te maken.
examples:
He can swim very fast.              Can he swim very fast?
That dog is happy.                        Is that dog happy?
My favourite colour is green    Is my favourite colour green?
They are the best.                         Are they the best?

He looks happy. -> He does not / doesn't look happy.
