Where does the liquid in blisters come from?

Blood pressure

= force with which blood pushes against the walls of blood vessels

Healthy blood pressure for young people = around 110/70 millimetre of mercury

Systolic pressure = arises when the ventricles contract

Diastolic pressure = during heartbeat pause

How do substances enter and leave your cells?

Tissue fluid = fluid that flows around your cells; intermediate station between blood and cells

How does tissue fluid re-enter your blood?

1. Lymphatic vessels = small canals that remove the excess tissue fluid from tissues

• Lymph = tissue fluid inside a lymphatic vessel
