corolla (petals) = Large and colourful (to attract insects) or small and green (like in grasses).

Stamens = male

Filament = ‘stalk’ (steeltje)

Anther = contains pollen

Pollen grains are

male sex cells.

Pistil = female

Stigma = sticky top

Style = ‘little stalk’

Ovary = contains ovules

Each ovule contains 1 egg cell.

The egg cells are the female sex cells.
