Goals
At the end of this lesson you can:

Use one of the future forms to talk about the future. 

You can talk about the difference between the different ways to talk about the future.

Create a sentence in which you talk about the future.

Will + infinitive
will + infinitive (without to). Same for all people. 
You use will + infinitive when talking about: 

1. A future intention, made at the moment you speak.
For example: 'It's Steve's birthday today.' 'Is it? I will go over there and congratulate him. 
"I'll give you my phone number, so you can call me when you need to."

Will + infinitive 
2. To express an offer. For example:
I will carry your suitcase for you. 
We'll clean up the dishes.
She'll show you around the school.

3. To express a future fact. The speaker is sure that it is going to happen in the future. For example:
The sun will still shine in 20 years.
I will be 30 next week.

Negative and questions
I will not help Tom with his homework.
I won't help tom with his homework.

What time will you be back?
When will you finish your homework?
Will you help me?

Going to
Am / is / are + going to + infinitive
She is going to 
Is used to: 
1. Express a future decision, intention, or plan made before the moment of speaking.
How long are they going to stay in Rome?
She isn't going to have a birthday party.

2. When we can see or feel that something is certain to happen in the future. 
Look at these clouds! It's going to rain. 
Watch out, you are going to drop your glass.

Questions and negatives
I'm going to leave. / I'm not going to leave.
She is not going to Spain. / She isn't going to Spain. 

When are you going to Italy?
Who is going to do the dishes?

Present continuous
You can also use the present continuous for the future. 
Cou can use it when talking about:
1. The near future:  For example:
I'm meeting my cousin for lunch in half an hour. 
We're going to the dentist in ten minutes.
We are going to go to the dentist.
2. With the verbs go and come
She's coming on Friday. 
I'm going home early tonight.

Will
-Prediction based more on opinion than fact.
-Intention, decision, plan or arrangement made at the moment of speaking.
Going to
-Prediction based on fact. There's evidence for your prediction. 
-Intention, decision, plan or arrangement made before speaking.
