Reading strategy: unknown words
Sometimes you can guess the meaning of a difficult word: 
  • the word of part of a word looks like a Dutch word you know: news > nieuws
  • the word looks like a word you know in another language: 
grand > grande 
  • you know part of the word in English or the opposite: 
unhappy > ongelukkig
  • use a dictionary if you are unsure

  • question word + do/does + all other verbs
