Kiegészítés:

A műveltetés témakörébe tartozik a 'to let' használata is. Jelentése: hagyunk valakinek valamit. Nyilván csak abban az esetben tudjuk használni, ha benne van, kivel "csináltatjuk".
Példák:
I don't let my children eat Kinder Bueno.
Josh won't let Mary adopt a puppy as he is allergic to dogs.
Let me know if you are ready.

Both, Either & Neither

Both = this AND that (mindkettő, ez és az, stb.)
Either = this OR that (ez is, az is, egyik, bármelyik, stb.)
Neither = NOT this OR NOT that (sem ez, sem az, egyik sem, stb.)

Slide 10 - Slide

Ez a különbség:
You can take both oranges. --> Lesz 2 narancsod is.
You can take either orange. --> Egy narancsod lesz.
You can take neither orange. --> Éhes maradsz.
Példák:
I really like both board games. I can't choose...
Would you be so kind to give me either a rum or a whisky, please?
Neither party attracts me, I am tired.
Egyes/többesszám
A 'both' után mindig többesszám következik (hiszen mindkettő), míg a másik kettőt egyes szám követ.

to hibernate – to sleep through the winter months (also used metaphorically)

black ice – a very thin coating of ice found on roads and sidewalks that is difficult to see, and therefore quite dangerous
wind chill – when the wind makes the air temperature feel colder
to bundle/wrap up – to dress in warm clothes. A bundle is a tightly wrapped package, so bundling up is like wrapping yourself in warm clothes or blankets like a package!
to be snowed in - When it snows a lot, the snow can pile up high outside your house, so you can't open the door.
a cold snap – a sudden short period of very cold weather. Think of snapping your fingers: quick, short and sudden.
to come down with - to get sick or catch a cold.
