1122: Construction of a dam in Wijk bij Duurstede => Zeist became land

1672: Louis XIV stayed in Zeist for two weeks.

1745: Cornelis Schellinger (salesman from Amsterdam) bought Slot Zeist to house the Evangelic community. 
1748: Construction of two squares (Broeders- en Zustersplein). 
1768: Construction of the church.
Persecuted 'Hernhutters' from Bohemia (Czech Republic) were housed here on the squares.
