Who am I and who are you?
Mrs Burger
mburger@hetccc.nl

For the first couple of weeks, you will sit in the same place every lesson. It makes it easier for me to remember your names instead of saying: "You with the red shirt." Nobody wants that.

Slide 3 - Slide

Making your acquaintance
1. Would you rather be a fantastic dancer or be great at math?
2. Are you more of a cat person or a dog person?
3. If it were possible to colonize Mars in our lifetime, would you go?
4. How many siblings do you have?
5. You can trade places with someone for 1 day. Who would it be?

Filing your English materials
Make sure that apart from your workbook + notebook, you make a special folder on your laptop/Ipad for your digital English materials, such as the period planners.

Next to that, make sure you have a paper or
digital diary to write down deadlines & homework.

Websites
In my classes you will often need to use your laptop or Ipad.

All the lessons will be made and shared in the online
tool LessonUp.
Download the LessonUp App (or use the website) and join your class by using your class code. Write the class code in your notebook or calender or phone. Don't lose it!

No need to worry
We will practise a lot!

Everything that is important will be repeated this year!

End of class
  • At the end of class you will note down what you still need to do for this week (see weekly tasks) and any deadlines you've been given.
  • Ask any final questions you have. Don't leave anything for later!
  • Pack your bags, tuck the chair under your table and take all rubbish with you. 😉

Week assignment 36
This week you will get to know the course book a little. Also, I want you to use the code in the front of the book to see if you can access the audio files.

Slide 19 - Slide

SPEAKING
When you take a Cambridge exam, there's always a speaking test (15 minutes). So familiarise yourself with the speaking tasks and always try to answer the questions elaborately. Don't keep it short and sweet, but show what you can do with the language.
Now, go to page 8 and do exercise 1 together. Afterwards, go to the next page of this LessonUp to see what else you are expected to do this week.
