We use both the present perfect simple and the present perfect continuous to talk about situations or actions which started in the past and continue into the present.Sometimes there is no important difference between the two tenses, particularly with verbs such as work, live and study.Mauro has lived/has been living in Bologna since 2010.However, there are also some important differences between the two.

How is your memory?

Look at the items (30 seconds) and try to remember as many objects as possible.

Work in pairs.

Collect some random, small object or a photo with a number of objects.

At the start of the class: show the objects to the students (30 seconds)
Put Ss in groups of 3 and ask them to write down as many of the objects they can remember.

When they have finished, show the objects again for Ss to check.
