Separatists

separatism (separatisme): A group people that wants to separate itself from a nation

Why do you think separatists and separatism are a problem for a country?

It threatens their sovereignty

• Sovereignty (soevereiniteit): In a state there are laws and rules. These are enforced by the state itself, and other countries are not allowed to interfere with that
• Self-determination ( zelfbeschikking): another word for sovereignty
