Basisregels van de Past Simple

Regelmatige werkwoorden
Voeg “-ed” toe aan de stam van het werkwoord.
Voorbeeld:
Walk → walked
Play → played

Onregelmatige werkwoorden
Deze werkwoorden hebben unieke vormen in de verleden tijd en volgen geen vast patroon.
Voorbeeld:
Go → went
Eat → ate


Gebruik van de past simple

Affirmative (bevestigend): Subject + werkwoord in de verleden tijd

Voorbeeld: She visited her grandparents last weekend.

Negative (ontkennend): Subject + did not (didn’t) + basisvorm van het werkwoord
Voorbeeld: He didn’t go to the party.

Questions (vragen): Did + subject + basisvorm van het werkwoord
