Senses
The things we can observe around us are called stimuli. There are different kinds of stimuli, and every sensory organ/receptor reacts to a different stimulus. Sensory organs are built to convert a stimulus to an impulse; electrical current through your nervous system. An impulse goes to the brains, where it gets processed so you can observe everything that is around you.
