listening/watching strategies
  • underline the important words in the answers that indicate what the answer is really about. 
  • If you doubt between two answers: ask yourself which answer was mostly present in the fragment? What is it really about and which aspects were less relevant. 
  • look for synonyms. Sometimes a synonym of a word in the answers is used in the fragment

How to practice? 
  • Practice listening at B2/C1 level in Holmwoods
  • Practice listening/watching in Woots. You can also practice at skilllevel 1-3. 
  • Watch a lot of Netflix series like: The Crown (without subtitles or with English subtitles), Planet Earth.

How to practice? 
  • Watch BBC News, Al Jazeera, CNN 
  • Listen to BBC radio/ a podcast on Spotify ( The Daily - The New York Times) / luisterboeken (Audible, Storytel, Nextory) -> Sherlock Holmes series, Harry Potter, Fantastic Beasts series, Jane Austen books  or anything else you find interesting

Soorten luisteren/kijken 
- globaal kijken: je krijgt een fragment te zien en moet aantekeningen maken. Je mag de vragen nog niet zien. Pas na het aantekeningen maken mag je de vragen beantwoorden. 
- selectief luisteren: je krijgt een fragment van 2/3 minuten en moet dan meerdere vragen hierbij beantwoorden die meer op kleine details gericht zijn.  De fragmenten worden 2 keer afgespeeld. 
- intensief luisteren: Je lees de vraagt, krijgt een fragment te horen of te zien en beantwoord vervolgens de vragen.
