The Great Barrier Reef

The Great Barrier Reef on the North-East coast of Australia is the largest living structure on the planet. It can even be seen from space! It is made up of 2,900 individual reefs and 900 islands. The ecosystem on the reef is beautiful and complex but also very fragile: people worry about its extinction.
