How did the British soldiers perceive the beginning of the war

1. They were mad at the King for getting involved
2. They were excited and wanted to fight.
3. They didn't care much
4. They were frightened and refused to go.

2. He was happy to die for his country

4. He lied to his parents that he would not die in the war.
