Chapter 17
Piper and Daisy got a clear idea of what was going on in the world now, because they lived with an army family. Mrs. Jane McEvoy was sad, because she missed her son.
Mrs. McEvoy was proud of her husbands work. In chapter 17 the McEvoys tell Piper and Daisy all about horrific things happening in the war.
