Irony / Ironie

• je zegt iets maar het is duidelijk dat het niet serieus moet worden genomen. "Fijn!" (als er een rij staat voor de kassa)
  
• een tegenstrijdige situatie (brand in brandweerkazerne, politiebureau beroofd)
• zie plaatjes. Why ironic?

Irony / Ironie

Een verhaal kan ironisch zijn. Schrijvers gebruiken het als een techniek. Er zijn verschillende soorten.

1. Dramatic irony. Het publiek / de lezer weet meer dan de personages: wij weten dat er een seriemoordenaar in de kelder zit, maar de hoofdpersoon niet.
2. Situational irony. Een contrast tussen verwachting en werkelijkheid: op zonvakantie naar de Canarische eilanden en daar dan een week regen.
3. Verbal irony. Iets anders zeggen dan je bedoelt. "Fijn!", als er een rij voor de kassa staat.
