Trappen van vergelijking 

Vergrotende trap = Comparative (it compares two things) = +

Overtreffende trap = Superlative (something is superior) = ++

+ --> ...-er

++ -->  the ...-est

cool --> cooler --> the coolest

kind --> kinder --> the kindest

Twee dingen met elkaar vergelijken: comparative + than

"Kate is funnier than Mike."

Zeggen dat één ding meer is dan iets anders: the + superlative

"This is the saddest movie I've ever seen."

eindig op e --> alleen ...-r of ...-st

large --> larger --> largest

eindig op klinker en medeklinker? --> verdubbel medeklinker

flat --> flatter --> flattest

eindig op y --> schrijf -ie

happy --> happier --> happiest

meer dan 3 lettergrepen of eindigt op -ful/-ed/-ing/-less

+ = more ...
