Ik begin met het introduceren van mezelf. My name is Homaira Faqiri and im looking forward to teaching you. I know it's quite boring sometimes to say something about yourself because im sure you have all already done that and most likely know each other already so I will skip that. However I would like to know everyones names so im just gonna name everyone off the list and check if I can pronounce everyones names and also if everyone is present. 
Important to remember
- No phones in the classroom. Put it in your locker. 
- Always bring your material (books, pen etc) to class. 
- I like to work with a seating chart.
- The planner of the first quarter of this year is on It's
   learning. You can check the contents of the lesson
   as well as your homework.

Okay so since you probably already know each other I thought it would be fun for you guys to know me better. Therefore I made a quiz with some general questions and you can guess which answer you think is correct. So please grab your laptops and go to lesson.com. If you don't have your laptop with you I'll just ask you which one you think is the right answer.

Next up: 
We're going to play a game called two truths and a lie. 
Basically: you say three fun facts about yourself, however one of them is a lie. Other people have to guess which one is the lie.

1. I randomly saw one of the squid game characters in South Korea.
2. I once peed myself while I was performing a song on stage.
3. This year, I went the quarter-final match of the European Championship between France and Portugal.

One of these statements about me is a lie and two of them are true. 
Can you guess which one is a lie? 
Ask me questions to find out if im lying or not.

Now it's your turn
  • Ga nu eerst zelfstandig 3 dingen over jezelf opschrijven waarvan er een een leugen is. (Ja het moet in het Engels ;)
  • Wees creatief en bedenk zoals ik, iets grappigs of iets unieks wat je is overkomen. 
  •  Zodra je klaar bent, mag je in tweetallen of groepjes van drie/ vier de drie dingen benoemen en om de beurt raden welke een leugen is. 
  • Probeer elkaar ook vragen te stellen om erachter te komen wat de leugen is. (Doe dit zoveel mogelijk in het Engels)
  •  Tijd: ~10 min. Ik loop rond om te kijken hoe het gaat.

Als ik dit heb uitgelegd vertel ik erbij dat ik rondloop om te kijken hoe het gaat en op die manier hoor ik over iedereen wel wat 
The goal of this activity is for me to get to know you better in a way that isn't just about your hobby and it's more fun and in smaller groups rather than the whole class. After this activity we will do somethin else with writing so only write on the front of your paper so we can use the back of the paper for the next activity 
Creative writing 
  • Voor deze activiteit heb je een pen en papier nodig. (gebruik eventueel hetzelfde blaadje als de vorige activiteit)
  • Jullie gaan samen een kort verhaal schrijven in jullie groepen/tweetallen. 
  • Elk van jullie begint het verhaal door één zin op te schrijven. Na elke ronde geef je je papier aan de persoon die naast je zit (met de klok mee). Die persoon moet dan verdergaan met het schrijven van jouw verhaal (één of meer zinnen). En zo verder...

Creative writing
  • Regel: geen scheldwoorden of iets ongepasts. Schrijf alleen over fictieve personen. 
  • Ik kan sommige mensen vragen om het hardop voor te lezen, dus wees creatief en maak het grappig of zelfs poëtisch. 
  • Elke ronde duurt één minuut. 
  • Ik loop rond om te kijken hoe iedereen het doet. 
  • Het doel van deze activiteit is om creatief in het Engels te schrijven. Dus concentreer je niet te veel op grammaticale/spelfouten!

Start writing
You can choose to start your story with ANY sentence but if you don't know what to start with, you can pick one of these:
1. I have never seen a ghost before, until today...
2. Today is the third of July, my 18th birthday but also my last, because...
3. The crash just happened and no one saw it coming..
4. Every morning, I walked to the café just to see him again..

After a couple rounds we will end it and you can read your
stories to your group.
