Vacation!

Slide 2 - Mind map

Ask the students the following:
1. When was the last time you went on vacation?
2. What did you do on vacation?
3. Where did you go? 
4. You can dubble click on messages to see who it is from, this way you can ask certain students what happened!
Make sure to let them use full sentences!

Give examples by telling them where you went, e.g.: 
1. I went to Spain 2 years ago.
2. I went to Santa Susannah and swam in the sea. 
3. In Spain I got lost at the market place.

Past Simple
  • De verleden tijd.
  • Een actie begon in het verleden en is daar ook geëindigd.
  • Vb: John luisterde naar de docent.
  • Vb: John liep naar huis.

Wat is het verschil?

Het gaat hier om dat leerlingen begrijpen wat het verschil is tussen regelmatige werkwoorden en onregelmatige werkwoorden in het Nederlands.

Pas daarna kan je over naar het Engels.

Regelmatige werkwoorden
  • In Dutch: Klagen - Durven - Luisteren - Hoeven
  • In English: To  complain - To dare - To listen - To want

  • Werkwoord + ed


Let op! Travel -> Travelled. Stop -> Stopped.

Laat leerlingen eerst een zin in de verleden tijd maken met de Nederlandse werkwoorden. Daarna kan je verder met Engels.

VT: Klaagde, durfde, luisterde, hoefde.
Onregelmatige werkwoorden
  • In Dutch: Drinken - Eten - Zwemmen
  • In English: To Drink - To Eat - To Swim

Vragende zin
Vraagzin Tegenwoordige tijd = Do/Does + Onderwerp + Hele WW
VB: Does she play tennis?

Vraagzin Past Simple = Did + Onderwerp + Hele WW
VB: Did she play tennis?
Let op! Vragen met to be (was/were) gebruiken niet 'did'.
VB: Was he a great dancer?

'Not' komt tussen het Hulp WW en Hele WW
  • Formule = Onderwerp + ontkenning (did not) + Hele WW
