Cheap - cheaper - cheapest
short - shorter - shortest
Bijvoeglijk naamwoord eindigend op -y --> -ier / iest
easy - easier - easiest
happy - happier - happiest

bijvoeglijk naamwoord met 2 of meer lettergrepen: more en most
beautiful - more beautiful - most beautiful
attractive - more attractive - most attractive

Bij deze bijvoeglijk naamwoorden kan je zowel
more-most als -er of -est gebruiken: 
common, cruel, handsome, likely, pleasant, polite, quiet, simple, stupid. 
I can think of pleasanter / more pleasant things than grammar.

Dat mag ook bij tweelettergrepige woorden die eindigen op -le, -er, -ow:
