Chapter 9.9 Voltage

Slide 1 - Slide

What is voltage(potential difference)
Voltage is the force that pushes charges (electrones) to move around a circuit.
In other words, it is the amount of energy given to the components in a circuit from the electrons passing through the wire.

Slide 2 - Slide

Measuring voltage
Voltage is measured in volts using voltmeter (V)

Slide 3 - Slide

Voltmetes are connected in parallel not in series like ammeters

Slide 4 - Slide

Slide 5 - Slide

Slide 6 - Slide

Voltage in serie and parallel  circuits

Slide 7 - Slide

The voltage is divided between the two lamps. In series circuit.

Slide 8 - Slide

The voltage remains the same. Each lamp gets the same amount of voltage if the lamps are equal.
