  • in zinnen met not (ontkenningen)
  • om nadruk te leggen

Staat er al één van de volgende hulpwerkwoorden dan gebruik je geen to do in vragen/ontkenningen:
can, may, must, shall, will, should, ought to, am, is, are, was, were, have/has/had + voltooid deelwoord.
Of wanneer een vraag met het onderwerp begint.


Let op: na de vorm van to do krijg je altijd het hele werkwoord zonder 'to'.
