Pair up with a classmate and share your hobbies. 

The conversation should be around 1-2 minutes

Asking for Details
To ask for more details about someone's hobby, you can use questions like: 
  • 'What do you like about it?' 
  • 'How often do you do it?'
  • 'Where do you do it?'
  • 'Why do you do it?'

Giving Details
Example sentences:
  • When: I go to the gym 3 times a week when I’m not to busy at work 
  • Where: I go to the gym down the street from my house after or before work if I’m not too busy 
  • Why: I started going to the gym this year to improve my health 
  • Dislikes: I don’t like going to the beach because the sand gets everywhere in my clothes

Introduce common phrases used to describe hobbies. Explain how to use these phrases.
Conversation Practice
Pair up with a different classmate and have a longer conversation about your hobbies. Use the questions and phrases from the previous slides.

The converstation should be around 3-4 minutes

Listen to a conversation between two people talking about their hobbies. Pay attention to what they're saying and how they say it.
