• half uur: half past

Let Op: "half past two" = 2.30 uur

• vanaf 31 min 'over': to

• Nederlands "vijf voor half..." = Engels X (twenty-five past...)

In het Engels wordt gekeken naar het hele uur. We hebben het over na het hele uur of voor het hele uur.
