  • Started around 1500 in Italy thanks to rich merchants ​
  • Revival of Greek and Roman art but also philosophy ​
  • Renaissance scholars focused on people -> humanism​
  • Renaissance spread through Europe in the 16th century ​
  • Helped by the printing press ​
  • People started to doubt the word of the church WHY?

Assignment
1. Look for an art piece made during the Renaissance (use your book or the internet)

2. Find information: when/where/artist/why/where is it now?

3. Make a poster (online or on paper), discuss with classmate and hand it  in before next week for a bonus point.
