An adverb of frequency says how often something happens
(never, always, rarely, sometimes, often, ...)

I
f the verb is a form of to be (am, is, are), the adverb comes after the verb.
She is always late.   He is never sad.

If the verb is not a form of to be, the adverb comes before the verb.
She always runs to school.   He never drinks coffee.
